In a surprising move, India’s cricket team benched veterans Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma for Saturday’s second one-day international against the West Indies.

On Saturday, India’s cricket squad shocked the world by deciding to bench Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma for the second one-day international against the West Indies. India’s Twenty20 International skipper Hardik Pandya batted first in Rohit Sharma’s absence. Pandya explained that the partners’ downtime was due to their desire for clarification on a few issues. Sanju Samson and Axar Patel have replaced the seasoned veterans.

We hoped to get in the first at-bat. We plan to test our scoring prowess on this undulating field. Virat and Rohit are taking a break because we have a few questions that need answering. They can rest up for the third One-Day International. Our bowling performance was outstanding. The catch was fantastic; it swung the tide. I think the bowlers did a terrific job if they could dismiss someone for 115 runs. Our catching was outstanding, but there are still areas where we can make strides. We could have won the last game by losing just two wickets instead of five. At the toss, stand-in skipper Hardik Pandya announced that Sanju Samson and Axar Patel would be replacing Rohit and Virat.

WI We are going to bowl first, we saw what occurred in the last game,” Shai Hope, the captain, said at the time of the toss. Bowlers will benefit from the favorable circumstances. Two games remain, and we need to win both of them to have any chance of advancing. It’s been a bit of a roller coaster ride. The playing field must be the same for both teams. When we bowl first, we may put the opposition under strain. Alzarri and Keacy are in, and Powell and Drakes are out.

Brandon King, Kyle Mayers, Alick Athanaze, Shai Hope(w/c), Shimron Hetmyer, Keacy Carty, Romario Shepherd, Yannic Cariah, Gudakesh Motie, Alzarri Joseph, Jayden Seales, and Alzarri John make up the West Indies’ starting XI.

Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan (w), Sanju Samson, Hardik Pandya (c), Suryakumar Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Kuldeep Yadav, Umran Malik, Mukesh Kumar, and Mukesh Kumar.
