Shubman Gill
After GT's victory over RCB in an IPL 2023 match, Virat Kohli congratulates Shubman Gill.

The legendary Indian cricketer has praised Shubman Gill, widely seen as Virat Kohli’s successor, as India’s future.

For many, including former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh, Shubman Gill is the natural successor to Virat Kohli. The former India cricket player continued by pointing out the major differences between Kohli and Gill. Both the present and the future of Indian cricket, Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill, smashed magnificent hundreds in the evening Super Sunday match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Titans. Both players hit their second innings of IPL 2023, but the younger player’s knock was more impressive. Three centuries were scored in two separate matches on a historic day in IPL history.

Gujarat Titans beat Royal Challengers Bangalore at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium thanks to another brilliant century from Shubman Gill.

“Shubman Gill masterfully builds his innings. Unlike the passionate Virat Kohli, he has his own identity and a certain air of lazy elegance. He’s as skilled as Virat Kohli and can play any shot, but he won’t give off the same impression of aggression. He’s not like the other guys. He’s such a promising young talent for India,” Harbhajan Singh remarked on Star Sports’ Cricket Live.

Harbhajan Singh, a former Indian cricketer, said that Kohli’s dangerous batting across formats is largely due to the fact that his knock contained few risky shots.

“Virat Kohli never takes any chances; he prefers to play within the ‘V’.” He’s a terrific batsman because he uses traditional cricket shots. “Kohli is a proper batter, and because of the supreme technique, he can play any format of the game, be it Tests, T20s, or T10s,” Harbhajan Singh stated.

Former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar praised Virat Kohli’s batting masterpiece at M Chinnaswamy, calling King Kohli’s century against GT the best of his two centuries this season. Bangalore reached 197/5 in 20 overs against the Gujarat Titans in their most recent league match, however, they lost wickets at regular intervals. Virat Kohli’s heroic 61-ball 101*, which included 13 fours and a six, brought his team closer to the 200-mark.

Because Gujarat Titans’ bowling assault was so much stronger than Sunrisers Hyderabad’s, Kohli’s latest century is even more impressive. Sanjay Manjrekar remarked, “Kohli also batted almost single-handedly in a pressure match, taking his team to a respectable total.”

On Sunday at the Wankhede Stadium, Green led the Mumbai Indians to an eight-wicket victory over the Sunrisers Hyderabad thanks to his unbroken 100 off just 47 balls. The Mumbai Indians won by eight wickets over the Sunrisers Hyderabad, securing a postseason berth for the former.

In the words of Irfan Pathan, “MI put much money into Cameron Green at the IPL Auction, and the big hitter delivered.” For MI, he may be the game-winning player. Due to the difficulty of batting on the wickets in Chennai and Ahmedabad, he should bat third for MI in the upcoming games. On low-speed pitches, Green can hit third, and SKY can hit fourth.
