When the first Test between England and New Zealand was not sold out, England’s Michael Vaughan used Twitter to express his displeasure with the exorbitant ticket costs at Lord’s.

Michael Vaughan, England’s former captain, slammed Lord’s for not selling enough tickets ahead of the first Test between England and New Zealand, which begins on Thursday. “This week’s lack of attendance at Lords is embarrassing for the game. No matter how hard they try, I promise that if tickets weren’t priced between £100 and £160, the show would be sold out. What’s up with the steep price tag? “He tweeted.

Adding to the stadium’s capacity was even on his mind as he spoke.

It’s the summer holidays, and many schoolchildren will be available to attend the Test match at Lord’s. “How about working out a method to get the tickets remaining at Lord’s to children with a parent for 40 pounds to ensure it is full?” he tweeted.

It will be a new era for England’s Test team when Ben Stokes assumes the role of full-time captain and Brendon McCullum takes over as head coach for the three-match series against New Zealand.

The England team for the opening Test at Lord’s was named on Wednesday.

English starting XI: Zak Crawley, Alex Lees, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, Ben Stokes, Ben Foakes, Matthew Potts, Jack Leach, Stuart Broad, and James Anderson.
