In the inaugural Twenty20 international between West Indies and New Zealand, Hayden Walsh Jr. catches Kane Williamson.

When the ball started to die on the surface towards the square leg boundary, Hayden Walsh ran a long distance from the backward square leg and dove well to make the catch.

On Wednesday at Sabina Park in Jamaica, during the first Twenty20 International between West Indies and New Zealand, West Indies players displayed outstanding fielding. After New Zealand’s Martin Guptill was dismissed by a one-handed screamer from Shimron Hetmyer, his colleague Hayden Walsh Junior took another spectacular catch. The latter made an incredible catch at square leg to end Kane Williamson’s innings. Williamson, who was batting on 47 off 32 balls, pushed a short ball from Odean Smith towards square leg in pursuit of a boundary, but a stunning catch by Hayden Walsh prevented him from reaching fifty.

Hayden Walsh made a great distance sprinting from the backward square leg and dove brilliantly to catch a ball that was dying on the surface towards the boundary.

The first Twenty20 International in a three-game series was won by New Zealand by 13 runs, continuing West Indies’ white ball woes this season. After a successful tour of Europe, the New Zealand cricket team batted first and scored 185 runs before rain stopped play. Their top bowlers then held the Caribbean side to 172 runs.

New Zealand was led by openers Devon Conway (43 runs off 29 balls) and Kane Williamson (47 runs off 33 balls), while Mitchell Santner took 3 for 19 out of 4 overs in the second innings.
