Rohit Sharma
Rohit Sharma claimed entire responsibility for MI's poor performance this season in the IPL 2022 tournament.

Rohit Sharma, the captain of Mumbai Indians, said on Saturday that he accepts full responsibility for his team’s dismal performance in the current IPL season.

It was the sixth straight loss for the Mumbai Indians, and a dejected Rohit Sharma took “all responsibility” for their disappointing IPL season, stating he was at his wit’s end to figure out what course correction was needed to bring them back on track. Rohit has had a terrible competition, scoring only 114 runs in six games and hitting a maximum of 41.

“I’d fix it if I knew what was wrong, but it’s not working.” I’m attempting to mentally prepare the same way I do for every game. After MI’s 18-run defeat to the Lucknow Super Giants on Saturday, Rohit stated, “It’s not coming off.”

“I take full responsibility for not placing the squad in a situation where they expect me to be. ‘ Playing the game and doing what you’ve always done is something I’m confident in.

Maintaining an eye on the future is essential.” Trying to put on a brave front while expressing his dissatisfaction with the situation, the skipper said, “It’s not the end of the world. We’ve been here before and we’ll attempt to be here again.

With the team’s No. 1 bowler Jasprit Bumrah out of contention for the starting role, the captain justified his tactics.

When Rohit was asked why he called Bumrah in for the fourth over, he answered, “There’s no special reason for it.”

It’s our goal to put the team before the individual whenever possible” (Bumrah). They (LSG) bat quite deep and it is crucial to hold your primary bowlers at the back end. Keeping Bumrah in the back end “didn’t seem to work out,” he said. “We usually try and keep him there.”

He couldn’t help but confess that his bowling was lacking.

While he bowled reasonably effectively, his teammates simply need to step up their game a bit more. As a team, we attempt and conceive about the best possible playing XI for each game, based on the conditions and the opposing squad. Decoding the defeats will be essential for Rohit.

This is our sixth defeat, and we’re still trying to figure out our best lineup, but it all comes down to whom we’re playing.” Even though it’s simple to point out lineup changes after losses, we attempt to stick with our strongest lineup whenever possible. He lauded KL Rahul, the Indian team’s vice-captain, for his superb batting display that has nearly eliminated Mumbai Indians from the Indian Premier League.

“I thought KL batted wonderfully, it is something missing from our team, and I needed someone in our top four to bat as long as possible, which is not occurring. No need to delve too deeply into it. But even if we don’t win a game today, we need to keep our heads up,” he said later on.
