India and Pakistan will playoff on 24 October in Dubai.

Gautam Gambhir said Pakistan will be helping India to play early in the T20 World Cup as the squad can focus on the remaining tournament.

India and Pakistan will compete at the ICC T20 World Cup on October 24, in a group-stage meeting confirmed on Tuesday by the international organization. The former opener in India, Gautam Gambhir, believes that it will enable the Indian squad to focus on the other tournament. Gambhir talked about Star Sports’ Show Game Plan: ICC T20 WC Schedule. In the early rounds of the tournament, he emphasized the importance of clashing with Pakistan. “In 2007 too, when we won the World Cup, we played our first game against Scotland, which was washed away, but virtually then our first game was against Pakistan. And this is precisely what I indicated, it’s important to play Pakistan in the early stages of the tournament because you can do it first of all and concentrate on the entire tournament, as you do not want to keep thinking about Pakistan, and it’s the same for supporters and the whole country.”

“Regardless of what the outcome will be, I am incredibly glad to see both countries in the first stages play against one other.”

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 will be held in the UAE and Oman beginning October 17 and the finale will take place on November 14 in Dubai.

The tournament begins with the Round 1 Group B match of hosts Oman and Papua New Guinea on 17 October, with the other teams in Group B, Scotland and Bangladesh challenged in the evening match.

The next day in Abu Dhabi will be Ireland, Netherlands, Sri Lanka, and Namibia, which comprises Group A with round 1 games going till 22 October. The top two clubs in each group will enter the tournament’s Super 12 stage starting on 23 October.
