Head coach Gary Stead is confident that captain Kane Williamson will be fit for New Zealand’s opening match on October 26 against Pakistan at the T20 World Cup in Bangladesh.

Captain Kane Williamson, who injured his hamstring during the Indian Premier League last week, is expected to be fit for New Zealand’s first T20 World Cup match against Pakistan on October 26. Although Williamson missed the final match of the Indian Premier League because of an injury, Stead downplayed the possibility that it would prevent Williamson from taking part in the world championship. According to Stead, Kane was “fine” when speaking with New Zealand Cricket. When asked about the pain, the doctor said it was “just a very, very slight hamstring twinge,” but otherwise, he was fine.

In other words, he didn’t have to play in a game against SunRisers Hyderabad because they were eliminated from the competition.

When he wasn’t playing in the Indian Premier League, Williamson was training with the New Zealand team. James Neesham and Adam Milne from the Mumbai Indians, as well as bowling coach Shane Bond, joined the national team straight from the IPL.

New Zealand’s first match of the tournament is two weeks away, and coach Chris Stead is using the time to get his team acclimated to the heat in the United Arab Emirates.

“As a result, we’ve likely worked out during the hottest part of the day today. At two o’clock, we begin, and the temperature is likely between 35 and 38 degrees. You’ll quickly notice that you’re getting a good amount of heat from this. All we have to do now is make sure we stay hydrated. Get people back into the hot weather and working hard with a little shock therapy “Stay steady,” she said.

“In the meantime, let’s make sure we can manage the guys and be crystal clear about our training and goals. We have no intention of trying to cook anyone.”
