West Indies vs Sri Lanka: Kieron Pollard became the third player in international cricket to hit six sixes in an over.

Sri Lankan spinner Akila Dananjaya will be clouded at nine, claiming a brilliant hat-trick in the first T20 International (T20I) against the West Indies in Antiga. However, his fortunes changed very quickly, as host team captain Kieron Pollard saw him hit six sixes in the next over on one of the most dramatic U-turns in cricket. Pollard became only the second batsman to achieve the T20I and the third batsman in international cricket.

With the West Indies opening fast at 52/0 in 3.1 overs, Dananjaya dismissed Evin Lewis, Chris Gayle and Nicholas Pooran in consecutive deliveries to stem the West Indies momentum.

However, when he came in to bowl the sixth over, West Indies captain Kirron Pollard bowled him clean.

The first delivery of the over disappeared at Cow’s Corner. The other operated directly on the scene-screen. Pollard hit a long off third ball and went to deep midwicket for the fourth.

He hit a half-century on long-on off the fifth ball and again went to deep midwicket to complete six sixes.

Pollard was stranded in the leg-trap before the next over, but the damage was done and the West Indies chased down the target of 132, giving up four wickets and over six overs.
