Darren Stevens
Darren Stevens is celebrating Marnus Labuschagne's wicket.

Until bowling a fish, Darren Stevens knocked for ages to dismiss Marnus Labuschagne, all with an early age of 45.

Some claim that age is just a number, and that certainly proved the case for Darren Stevens, the 45-year-old cricketer. On Friday, the first-class veteran recorded a score of 190 of only 149 deliveries in the county championship for Kent against Glamorgan. If that was not enough to inspire him, he also trapped Australia’s star Marnus Labuschagne LBW in a delivery peach, which sprang into a solid position to put his team after a batting collapse threatened Glamorgan with the edge.

In its 190-run assault, the County Championship also shared a video of each boundary hit by Stevens.

On Thursday, Glamorgan won the toss and selected the St Lawrence Ground in Canterbury.

Ollie Robinson and Jordan Cox, Kent openers, have taken a 60-run stand to give a decent start for the team before they’ve lost seven wickets for only 32 runs.

Stevens and Nathan Gillespie had been standing on a 36-run stand until Kent was 128/8.

That is why Stevens went on a spree until Marnus Labuschagne accidentally fired him.

He set up a 166-run 9th wicket stand with Miguel Cummins, who contributed to the partnership in one single run.

The epic knock of Stevens saw Kent post 307. At the time of writing, the Glamorgan was 48/2 on Day 2, with the match postponed by bad light.

Stevens reached 15 limits and 15 six in his amazing one-man display, which struck the ball at 128.

It was his 36th century First Class.

Stevens played 315 matches in first-class and scored 15940 runs. The all-rounder, who has a medium on the right, also has 565 First Class wickets to his credit.
