On Wednesday, the Indian spacecraft Chandrayaan-3 successfully touched down on the moon, inspiring national pride. Since the discovery of water on the moon, the area near the South Pole has been a source of fascination, and India is the first country to arrive there. In 2019, Chandrayaan-2 was unable to land on the Moon as planned. Mumbai Indians, an India Premier League franchise, commemorated India’s victory by adding a cricket spin and drawing parallels to the upcoming One-Day International World Cup.

Similar to Chandrayaan-2, India’s ODI team fell to New Zealand in the semifinals of the 2019 World Cup, this time by a score of 21 runs. Using X (formerly Twitter), MI posted a collage illustrating ISRO’s recovery from their setback and implying that Team India may also win this year’s prized ICC trophy.

The historic landing was televised live beginning at 5:20 pm, and the lander went through four stages before touching down on the Moon’s surface.

Vikram made gradual progress towards Earth in each stage, finally beginning a steep drop in the penultimate phase. ISRO officials celebrated each successful stage in the mission control room.

All the government authorities cheered when it touched down on the moon’s surface. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was in South Africa at the time, sent his congratulations to the entire ISRO crew via video call.

Since MS Dhoni took over as captain of Team India in 2013, when they won the Champions Championship, the Men in Blue have failed to win another ICC championship. India’s national ODI team will compete in the Asia Cup, which begins on August 30 and concludes before the 2023 ODI World Cup.

The first game will be played in Multan, and it will pit co-hosts Pakistan against Nepal. On September 2 in Kandy, the Rohit Sharma-led squad will open their season against Pakistan.
