WTC Final: Ahead of the World Test Championship final, the ICC gave cricket fans a glimpse of India captain Virat Kohli’s preparations.

Captain India, Virat Kohli, will have his work cut out when India faces New Zealand in the upcoming World Test Championship (WTC) final, as he will be looking to win his first ICC trophy as the team captain. As captain, Kohli’s last ICC title was the 2008 U-19 World Cup, when he led the Indian U-19 team. Before the game, ICC shared a video on Instagram of the batsman practicing his drives, which gives fans a look at his pre-game preparations. The finals of the World Wide Worx Championships will begin on June 18th at The Ageas Bowl in Southampton. Team India also plays an intra-squad match to gain match practice. As opposed to India, who just finished a two-Test series against England, New Zealand will be coming into the game with full match time on their side, as they just completed a two-match Test series against England.

Indians arrived in England on June 3, during which time they had to stay at the on-site hotel for a mandatory three-day period. After the WTC final, India will face England in a five-match Test series that will determine the outcome of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.

In the 2021 IPL season, Kohli is expected to return, having been sidelined due to an increase in COVID-19 cases. There were several high-profile cases in the tournament, too.

In 2021, the International Premier League (IPL) will begin again in the September-October window and be hosted in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
