When it comes to Ishan Kishan, former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan remarked on Saturday that the team is investing so much in the left-handed batter because it sees him as a long-term prospect in the Indian Premier League (IPL). For Rs 15.25 crore, the Mumbai Indians were able to re-sign Ishan Kishan to their roster. “In the future, he could be the team’s captain, but he isn’t here right now. The Delhi Capitals acquired Australia all-rounder Mitchell Marsh for Rs 6.5 crore after receiving interest from a slew of teams.

Earlier in the auction, Punjab Kings purchased India opener, Shikhar Dhawan, for $8.25 million. Rs 5 crore was spent on Ravichandran Ashwin by the Rajasthan Royals. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) acquired Australia Test skipper Pat Cummins for Rs 7.25 crore.

Punjab Kings paid Rs 9.25 crore for Proteas pacer Kagiso Rabada. Rajasthan Royals acquired New Zealand bowler Trent Boult from the Kiwis for Rs 8 crore. KKR paid Rs 12.25 crore for Shreyas Iyer. Mohammad Shami was bought by Gujarat Titans for Rs 6.25 crore.

In a deal for Rs 7 crore, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) acquired South Africa batsman Faf du Plessis. Quinton de Kock was acquired by Lucknow Super Giants for Rs 6.75 crore. Delhi Capitals signed David Warner from Australia for a fee of Rs 6.25 crore.
