Rohit Sharma marked another special occasion with a memorable knock.

India vs England: Rohit Sharma, along with his wife Ritika Sajdeh on Saturday, smashed their seventh Test century at the Chennai stand.

Rohit Sharma scored a brilliant century on the first day of the second Test match between India and England in Chennai on Saturday. The Test also marked the return of fans to an international cricket match for the first time in India since March last year. As Rohit smacked England bowlers in all parts of the MA Chidambaram Stadium, his wife Ritika played applause from the stand. Rohit’s seventh century in the longest format of the game came on the eve of Valentine’s Day. This was not the first time Rohit, along with his wife Ritika, saw the stands on a special occasion at the Batting Masterclass. Mumbai Indians took to Twitter to reveal an interesting connection between some of Rohit’s key knocks and Ritika’s presence inside the stadium.

Earlier in the day, Rohit struck a crucial 85-run partnership with Cheteshwar Pujara after which India lost the wicket of Shubman Gill in the second over of the day.

After Pujara’s fall, Virat Kohli was cleared by Moin Ali for a duck.

After this, Rohit got a lot of support from Ajinkya Rahane as this pair took India in a comfortable position.

Rohit and Rahane added 162 runs for the fourth wicket.

India ended the day by scoring 300 runs for six wickets and Rishabh Pant remained unbeaten on 33 runs.
