Hardik Pandya
To reach the 100-hit plateau in the IPL, Hardik Pandya struck Aiden Markram with a fastball.

Only Chris Gayle and Andre Russell have hit more sixes in the Indian Premier League than Hardik Pandya.

Hardik Pandya, the captain of Gujarat Titans, became the first Indian to hit 100 sixes in the Indian Premier League (IPL). While playing for the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Monday, Hardik made history by scoring his first international century. In a total of 1046 balls, the all-rounder has reached the landmark. The West Indies Chris Gayle and Andre Russell are the two fastest players to hit 100 sixes. Unbeaten at the end of the innings, he hit four boundaries and a six.

It was Kane Williamson and Abhishek Sharma’s brilliant innings that helped SunRisers Hyderabad beat Gujarat Titans by eight wickets in the match.

Skipper Williamson hit 57 and Abhishek Sharma smashed 42 as SRH chased a target of 163 with five balls remaining in the match to ensure victory.

Gujarat’s first setback in the Indian Premier League follows three straight victories.
