England’s senior cricketers may boycott the Ashes.
Australia has strong quarantine regulations in place, and this is why it’s believed to be to blame.
Additionally, the cricket calendar has led to it.
The English cricket team has been upset with the ECB’s decision to completely reject a postponement of the Ashes visits in any capacity.
Some of the best English players are considering boycotting the Ashes series against Australia at the end of this year because they don’t want to be forced to spend the next three or four months in their hotel rooms because of tight quarantine laws in the country. As ESPN Cricinfo has reported, the ECB refuses to consider postponement, something that has exasperated senior players and staff. “England’s team seems to be falling apart since they’re talking to the ECB about the possibility of them not being able to have a strong team in the Ashes,” according to the website.
The players are upset that the ECB is refusing to consider the cancellation of even part of the tour.
“They are now debating what to do. It is reported that one of the choices on the table is the entire team—including the coaching and support staff—all banding together to refuse to participate in the tour.
“In spite of their own willingness to undergo a two-week quarantine, the players are worried about putting their families through it. And the fact that some players would be gone for nearly half a year (first, the IPL and then the T20 World Cup and finally the Ashes) has left them with little choice but to take the time to spend with their families “The document states,
The English players are also angry about the quarantine because of its nature.
“The players were upset because of the quarantine, which was explained to be necessary. Despite rumors of permission to utilize a Gold Coast resort hotel, it’s said that they are expected to spend two or three hours each day exercising out of their hotel rooms.
“There is a chance that the squad will be forced to stay in a “bubble” to avoid facing complications when going between states. Meanwhile, families may still have to spend 14 days in a hotel room to satisfy the “hard” quarantine, “In addition, it stated.
