After losing England all-rounder Chris Woakes to injury, the Delhi Capitals signed Ben Dwarshuis to take his place for the UAE leg of the IPL.

Dwarshuis has a 100 wicket haul at an average of 23.73 in the 82 T20 matches he has played. In the history of the Big Bash League, the 27-year-old, who plays for the Sydney Sixers, holds the sixth-highest total number of wickets with 85 in 69 matches.

Following the pandemic in May, the 14th season of the IPL will begin on September 19 in Dubai with a battle between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians, who are both defending champions.

The following week, the match will be in Abu Dhabi, where Kolkata Knight Riders will face Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Royal Challengers Bangalore will be playing against Chennai Super Kings in their first game, which will be held in Sharjah on September 24.

13 total matches will be staged in Dubai, with ten taking place in Sharjah and eight in Abu Dhabi.
