Covid-19 has been found in Sydney Sixers’ Josh Philippe, according to an official release.

Sydney Sixers wicketkeeper-batter Josh Philippe has tested positive for COVID-19 in the Big Bash League (BBL) on Wednesday. “This week’s positive COVID-19 diagnostic by Jack and Mickey Edwards, as well as Josh Philippe’s positive COVID-19 diagnosis earlier this week have left him out of the squad. As they recover, all three players have been placed in solitary confinement “read the text of a press release.

Before their BBL|11 Challenger against the Adelaide Strikers on Wednesday night at the SCG, Sydney has chosen a 14-man roster.

Daniel Hughes, a seasoned hitter, has been selected in the squad, but he must pass a fitness test by the club an hour before the game against the Strikers in order to participate. Members of the Central Local Replacement Player (LRP) pool will be on standby if he is ruled out for any reason.

Jay Lenton, the Sixers’ assistant coach, and wicketkeeper/batsman are also on the team after spending the first part of the month on the road.

There was no full-time wicketkeeper available in the BBL’s Central Local Replacement Player (LRP) pool, and so Lenton was added.
