Southee: Any large or small offer is appreciated

Tim Southee, the fast bowler in New Zealand, has put his WTC Final shirt on the auction to raise funds for Hollie Beattie, the 8-year-old girl fighting cancer.

New Zealand fast bowler Tim Southee is auctioning off his final shirt of the world test championship to help finance 8-year-old Hollie Beattie’s cancer treatment. Southee, who is currently in the MIQ, has placed rare sporting memorabilia in Commerce Me for Hollie and her family after returning from New Zealand’s historic triumph in the World Test Championship final against India at Ageas Bowl. The whole Black Caps team signs the shirt.

In July 2018, Hollie was initially diagnosed with a rare, aggressive form of cancer called Neuroblastoma. The 32-year-old said that he learned about Hollie’s story in the cricket community a few years ago and was trying to support her.

“This is an auction for my ICC World Test Championship Final t-shirts against India signed by the entire WTC squad. Every proceeds from the auction will support Hollie Beattie and her ongoing health care,” Southee said at the auction.

“I hope that this shirt can somehow contribute to the continuing medical needs of the Beattie family as Hollie continues to fight. My heart goes out to them as a parent as they fight on.

“The strength of the Beattie family is a great reminder that whatever we can experience success and failure in the field of cricket is nothing compared to the challenges of those who suffer from their health, like Hollie,” he said.

“Any large or small offer is very much appreciated!” Southee added. Southee added.

By Tuesday, after 199 offers, the auction closed at 8.15 pm on July 8 (local time), which amounted to 43,100 dollars.
