Mohammed Shami hopes to keep his healthy shape
With the COVID-19 ravaging worldwide, Mohammed Shami said that too much preparation does not work in these times. India will be playing in the WTC Final and also in the test series against England.
Veteran pacer Mohammed Shami from India has found a “rhythm” during the now suspended IPL and feels the UK tour would be a win for both the group if the impressive results from the last 6 months can be replicated. India will depart the UK on the 2nd of June for three months and a half, where they will perform six trial games, beginning with the grand Finale Test Competition toward New Zealand in Southampton on the 18th of June, supported by 5 trials toward England on the 4th of August.
With the COVID-19 causing havoc around the globe, Shami, soon to be 31, said that too much preparation does not benefit in these times.
Who would have believed that the pandemic would almost kill two years of our lives? Therefore I prefer any tournament or series, as is the case,” said the pacer.
“We have briefly appeared several outstanding games as a group and, of course, our morale is big just before we left for England.
Whether we’re able to recreate any of the forms that we’ve been doing for the past six months, I’m sure we’ll find it a perfect season, said the person with 180 wickets in 50 games. Shami, who has missed seven straight tests in Adelaide due to a wrist fracture, knows he will not stay there long. And that is exactly why he wants to share with the younger generation the tricks of his trade.
It is instantly like I am about to share every input that only the younger folks need after several times throughout the international cricket. I don’t continue playing, so it’ll be awesome if I can move anything on to the kids,” Shami said.
Shami said he didn’t care about his own bowling.
“I don’t worry too much about what my strategy would be. I found my rhythm in the IPL and the remainder depends, of course, on the circumstances.”
