Sunil Gavaskar, a former captain of India, believes that India’s inability to defend totals without Jasprit Bumrah has been an issue for them for a while, and the management needs to make some changes.

In the current three-match T20I series against Australia, Team India did not have the best of starts as the hosts were unable to hold on to 208 runs in Mohali and the bowlers were unable to put on a valiant effort. Only Axar Patel was successful in both taking wickets and being frugal. Jasprit Bumrah did not play in the first T20I, so it will be interesting to watch if he returns for the crucial second T20I.

Sunil Gavaskar, a former captain of India, believes that India’s inability to defend totals without Jasprit Bumrah has been an issue for them for a while, and the management needs to make some changes.

“India’s weakness is this. This issue is not brand-new. They’ve been finding it challenging to defend without Jasprit Bumrah for a few years now. They can defend the score when Bumrah is around, but without him, they lose even 200-plus totals. Having said that, we must consider a solution. If not, it can harm them in the future, “After the first Twenty20 International between India and Australia, Gavaskar said on Sports Tak.

Gavaskar responded to a question about Jasprit Bumrah as follows: “Regarding his (Bumrah’s) fitness, I believe that the team management wants him to be 100 percent fit before selecting him for India’s XI because he is such a crucial team member. He might perform in Nagpur.”

“But consider this. The Indian squad wins games while they are attempting to reach a goal. But the other way around, it’s the opposite. Between overs 16 and 20, they still lack the bowling that is required. This is the main reason why the team always loses “Added him.

On Friday in Nagpur, the second T20I match between India and Australia will take place.
