South Africa has gone for their next bilateral series in Sri Lanka.

South Africa went without coach assistant Enoch Nkwe for Sri Lanka who left following apparent differences with Mark Boucher, head coach of under-pressure.

On Wednesday, South Africa traveled without the assistant coach Enoch Nkwe for Sri Lanka, who resigned after apparent differences with coach Mark Boucher. Cricket South Africa (CSA) late Tuesday stated that they had resigned, despite the fact that they had “tried hard to keep their services.” According to the document, Nkwe ‘expressed concerns about team environment functioning and culture.’ Nkwe’s resignation was based on a broad criticism of Boucher following reports on racism in South African cricket at current hearings.

The rift with Boucher was portrayed by local media as a personality rather than a race, with Nkwe thinking that he was left as an assistant.

After being designated by the subsequently-fired CSA CEO Thabang Moroe in 2019, Nkwe, a former provincial player, served as South Africa’s squad director – effectively head coach.

After former captain Graeme Smith was recruited as cricket director at the end of that year, Nkwe’s role was dissolved.

Boucher and Nkwe have respectively been trained as a coach and assistant coaches with contracts till the end of the Cricket World Cup in 2023.

While Boucher appeared in 147 test games, he was criticized for his lack of formal training.

The criticism grew when Black Former Players said that during the period in which Boucher was a major team member, blacks were not welcome in the team environment.

Former spin bowler Paul Adams claims he was harassed racially during fines conferences chaired by Boucher that put the spotlight completely on the trainer.

On Monday, Boucher announced his declaration of assent before the Social Justice and the Building of the Nation in which he apologized for any inappropriate conduct.

The former wicketkeeper tried to put the allegations against him into context, but his affidavit led to a storm of condemnation across social media, calling on him to quit or be disqualified.

A brief trip to Sri Lanka includes three internationals of one day, beginning on 2 September in Colombo and three internationals of 2020.

At a pre-departure press conference on Monday, Proteas white-ball skipper Temba Bavuma revealed that Boucher had addressed players on his charges and gave ‘clarity and context.’

While there were no formal suggestions that the employment of Boucher was under threat, the resignation declaration of Nkwe stated that the CSA Board will take “the actions required to examine and deal with the problems presented by Enoch.”
