Australia have been fined 40 per cent of their match fee and also lose four points from the ICC World Test Championship for maintaining a slow over-rate against India during the second Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2020-21.

According to the ICC regulations, teams are docked two points and 20 per cent of their match fee for each over that the team fails to bowl in the allotted time.

Earlier this year, South Africa became the first team to lose points in the ICC World Test Championship for a similar over-rate offence.

Australia, after the removal of four points have 322 on the table.
