According to sources who spoke to NDTV on Friday, the Rajasthan Royals have retained captain Sanju Samson ahead of the IPL super auction.

Sources told NDTV on Friday that, ahead of the IPL mega auction, the Rajasthan Royals had opted to keep captain Sanju Samson. At an average of 40.33, the wicketkeeper-batsman scored 484 runs in 14 IPL 2021 matches. With a batting average of 136.72, he racked up a century and two half-centuries.

Teams have until November 30 to announce which players they will be keeping for the upcoming season. The maximum number of players that can be retained by these teams is four. At least two of the names on the list could be from outside the country.

According to ESPNCricinfo, the IPL auction is expected to bring in a total of Rs 90 crore for the participating franchises.

Lucknow and Ahmedabad will be able to select three players before the auction, according to a story in the Indian Express. Two Indians and one out-of-country player would be the ideal lineup for these two teams.

He had excellent IPL 2021 in the UAE, but RR missed out on playoff contention after failing to finish in the top seven.

Only five of Rajasthan’s 14 matches went their way, with two of those losses being quite close.
