The BCCI has verified Rishabh Pant's upcoming surgery.

BCCI medical staff will be present for Rishabh Pant’s upcoming surgery to repair torn ligaments.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has stated that Rishabh Pant, the Indian wicketkeeper batter who was seriously injured in a car accident on December 30, has been transferred to a hospital in Mumbai and will have surgery to repair ligament rips. The BCCI will pay for the cost of transporting Pant by air ambulance from Dehradun to Mumbai so that he can continue his treatment. The BCCI medical staff will keep an eye on him.

Since his accident, Pant has been receiving care at the Max Hospital in Dehradun, but he will soon be transferred to the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. The wicket-keeper batsman has ligament damage and will need surgery to repair them, the board confirmed.

That’s what the BCCI said in their statement: “All the arrangements for India wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant to move to Mumbai have been made by the Board of Control for Cricket in India. After receiving treatment for his injuries at Max Hospital in Dehradun following a car accident on December 30, Rishabh will be flown to Mumbai for further care.

“A specialist in sports medicine and the director of the hospital’s arthroscopy and shoulder service, Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala, will oversee his care at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital and Medical Research Institute, where he will be confined. Due to ligament rips, Rishabh will need surgery and further procedures, all of which will be closely watched by the BCCI Medical Team.

The Board is committed to helping Rishabh get well as quickly as possible and will give him any assistance he requires during this time.

The possibility that the BCCI would send Pant on a plane to the UK was mentioned earlier.
