It is Pakistan vs Australia: However, only three of their eight scheduled series have been played by both Australia and Pakistan. They are now ranked 7th and 10th respectively. Hosts India has already qualified.

When Australia and Pakistan begin their one-day international series in Lahore on Tuesday, T20 hero Mitchell Marsh will miss out because of a hamstring injury. To qualify for next year’s World Cup, the top seven teams from the 13-team ODI Super League must win all of their matches.

Only three of the eight scheduled matches have been played between Australia and Pakistan, which are presently sixth and tenth respectively. As hosts, India has already qualified.

Australians were already without David Warner, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and Steven Smith due to various reasons, and now Marsh has been ruled out of the World Twenty20.

Each of the five seniors played a key role in Australia’s 1-0 victory against Pakistan in the three-match Test series last week.

Aaron Finch, the captain, is concerned that 30-year-old Marsh would be unable to play in the entire ODI series.

“Mitch hurt his hip flex during fielding drills on Sunday,” Finch revealed on Monday.

“We’ll have to wait and see, but based on how he felt yesterday, I doubt he’ll be available for the series.”

Sean Abbott, Ben Dwarshuis, Nathan Ellis, and Ben McDermott are just a few of the young players Finch is banking on to step up despite their inexperience.

There are moments when the freedom for players to “simply play freely and express themselves” can be a blessing, according to Finch.

It’s about bolstering the team’s depth and experience, he said.

Josh Inglis, the team’s wicketkeeper and batsman, tested positive for Covid-19 on Monday and will be out of the lineup for Australia.

Cricket Australia stated that “Inglis would isolate for five days before returning to the squad.”

For Finch, the fact that Pakistan has not won an ODI series against Australia since 2002 might be a source of inspiration.

Fakhar Zaman, Pakistan’s captain, stated that his team hoped to earn 30 points in the series.

There are some huge names missing, which will have an impact, according to him.

Although it is an international squad, “we will not take them lightly because Australia is known to perform well in all settings and all conditions.”

Ex-Pakistan captain Fakhar pledged to put the Test series setback behind them.

A statement by our captain stated that our team’s current situation is beyond our control, but that we will do our best to win the upcoming series.

The next two one-day internationals will take place on Thursday and Saturday in Lahore, Pakistan.
