After Australia’s victory over India in the World Test Championship final, Ravichandran Ashwin tweeted about it.

One of the most talked-about aspects of India’s World Test Championship final versus Australia was the fact that Ravichandran Ashwin did not make the team. Ashwin, who had put in much effort to perform in the challenging English conditions, was left off the team sheet in favor of Ravindra Jadeja, the only spinner. After India’s loss, Ashwin issued a lengthy tweet about his disappointment with the team’s performance. The seasoned cricketer has revealed his motivation for doing so.

At the very end, when everything was over, I tweeted my feelings of closure. As soon as I find out what happened, I can move on. We can’t afford to waste time. “I have a much better grasp on life now,” Ashwin told Indian Express.

Ashwin, when asked about the concept of “closure,” explained that he was in need of it since he preferred looking forward to the work at hand to moping about what might have been.

You must be able to pick yourself up and continue. What I mean is that I have improved my way of life considerably over the years. I sometimes wonder if I’ve played cricket for so long because I’ve been able to handle so much pressure. However, in light of this, my character and identity have been stripped away. My entire way of life has been destroyed.

After returning from a tour, I would practice bowling at my academy to maintain my skills. That’s because I never take vacations. The two years I spent at the helm of Kings XI Punjab, followed by my time at Covid and the challenges I faced there, were the most formative of my life. Because that was my voyage, I was a very serious guy when I got there in my captain capacity. After trying to delegate tasks to numerous other individuals, I realized that my path did not have to mirror anyone else’s. It made me quite calm and mellow,” he remarked.

Ashwin explained that he tweeted about his position because he didn’t want people to feel sorry for him and was ready to go on to the next challenge of the Tamil Nadu Premier League.

No one understands my plight on this trip. It’s simple for me to look back and think, “Well, obviously that didn’t happen to me,” or “He must have had some sort of luck with that,” etc. I don’t have any compassion for myself. That’s why I made the tweet; I needed to put everything to rest. I couldn’t stand it any longer when people started feeling sorry for me.

“You don’t play in today’s social media era, and sometimes that makes you greater than if you had played, right? Many believe that our team would have won if he had participated. Whether or not we would have won depends on my participation. I believe I gave myself the best possible shot at success there, and I would have given it my all had I been there. Yes, I believe I have earned my respect. To no avail, unfortunately. The all-around spinner was eager to shift his attention to the TNPL with the Dindigul Dragons after the tournament concluded.
