T20 World Cup
Both the T20 World Cup and the Asia Cup 2022 finals were played in Pakistan.

Pakistan was defeated by Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup final in the United Arab Emirates, and they were also trounced by England in the T20 World Cup final earlier this month in Melbourne.

On Thursday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will host a lavish banquet in Islamabad to honor the players who helped the country to the runner-up spot at this year’s Asia Cup and T20 World Cup. There will be diplomats, political figures, previous captains, and players in attendance, including members of the Pakistan Test squad. According to a member of the Pakistan Cricket Board, “the goal is to honor and appreciate the players for their performances in two important events.” After making it to the two finals, the players may receive financial incentives, according to the source.

Pakistan lost the final of the Asia Cup to Sri Lanka in UAE and then was beaten by England in the T20 World Cup summit showdown in Melbourne earlier this month.

Last year also the Pakistan team led by Babar Azam managed to go into the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup in Dubai but were defeated by Australia.

The PCB Chairman reportedly met with Babar Azam and Saqlain Mushtaq to discuss the team’s upcoming plans and the player’s performances in the two major tournaments.

The team’s success in reaching two major finals was recognized by Ramiz (Raja), who “noted that the players still had to improve in some areas to match the top in all formats.”

There is no threat to Babar’s captaincy, according to the source, because Ramiz has promised him his entire support.
