Wriddhiman Saha

Batsman Wriddhiman Saha claims the journalist whose content he had published on social media without identifying the author has yet to contact him or apologize for his actions.

Saha, the wicketkeeper-batter who posted the journalist’s contentious texts on social media without naming him, has alleged that the journalist hasn’t contacted him or apologized for his actions. Last week, Saha released a screenshot of an unidentified journalist’s messages to the player, in which the journalist requested an interview from the player. Later, the journalist would send texts with an agitated tone because he hadn’t heard back from Saha. After Saha posted a screenshot of the texts, previous cricketers rallied around him and the BCCI took notice of the issue, resulting in a full-blown controversy.

In a recent interview with Zee News, Saha made it clear that he has not heard from the journalist since.

“The journalist’s message hurts me. There isn’t a single instance in which I’ve misbehaved with a journalist, and the same goes for them. This, on the other hand, was completely out of character. Saha said Zee News, “I wanted the public to know that the world of journalism contains such people.

“The mentioned journalist has not contacted me or apologized,” he continued.

It was also reported that he is in contact with the BCCI on this issue.

“Following my tweet, BCCI contacted me via email and phone. They’re looking into it. They can count on me to work with them.

As a matter of principle, I’m not going to expose his identity. I’m a firm believer in the notion that everyone deserves a second shot. He said, “This is the second chance I’m going to offer him for now.”

As a result of his omission from India’s Test squad, though, Saha says he will not retire.

“At this time, I have no plans to retire. I plan to participate in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and other domestic cricket events. To be dropped for the next two-Test series against Sri Lanka is a huge blow to my confidence. I expected to be selected for the team based on my performance in the last encounter against New Zealand. The selecting committee had already made up their mind and dropped him, he explained.
