This Skill Can Be A Real Weapon During Pakistan Tour Pat Cummins Thinks So

Despite the fact that Pakistan has welcomed Australia in the United Arab Emirates for the past two decades, this is Australia’s first visit to Asia since the year 1998.

The first Test against Pakistan will be played in Rawalpindi on March 4th, marking Australia’s first foreign Test visit in just over two and a half years. This is Australia’s first visit to Pakistan since 1998, while the country has hosted Australia in the United Arab Emirates for more than two decades. Babar Azam, Pakistan’s star batter, has resurrected the Pakistani team, which is now a force to be reckoned with in all forms of the game thanks to the emergence of new stars and skilled cricketers in recent years.

Before departing for the tour, Australian skipper Pat Cummins addressed the media and discussed the major factor that the Aussies may have to deal with, reverse swing.

He stated, “I’m not sure whether that is or isn’t an advantage, but it is a reality of playing over there.”

“The ball frequently reverse swings, which we didn’t see much of this summer because of the green wickets and short games, but it’s a potent tool over there.

“As a result, we’re working to improve those skills.

When it comes to the subcontinent, we haven’t bowled much reverse swing in the last year or so, but that’s a significant factor.”

Cummins believes that the Australian team would be in good shape for the tour if they are able to train in similar conditions to Pakistan before they go for the tour.

There are advantages and disadvantages to flying in and spending a couple of weeks in a new location, Cummins said.

“To be able to land here, fresh and ready to go, I think we’ll be able to mimic comparable conditions to what you’d expect over there in a matter of days and be ready to go for the Test match in a matter of days.

“As a part of our spin-bowling practice session at the MCG today, we worked on a lot of reverse-swing bowling.

“It can be quite a change from what you’re used to in a typical Australian summer when you have to deal with spin and reverse-swing bowling.

“It’s also a lot of fun.

In closing, Cummins said: “We’re seeing new things and attempting new things, so that adds an extra element to training.
