India vs. England’s first one-day international at The Oval was a star-studded affair.

The Kennington Oval in London played host to a star-studded crowd on Tuesday as India thrashed England in the opening One-Day International. MS Dhoni, the former captain of India, and Gordon Greenidge, the renowned West Indies opener, were in attendance. But there’s more to it than that. Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan and their older son Taimur were also in attendance for the match that gave the visitors a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.

In a shot that has gone viral on Twitter, Dhoni may be seen alongside Greenidge and Saif Ali Khan.

In the first one-day international, India won the toss and decided to field.

Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah ripped through England’s top order with ease.

As Shami returned for his second spell, Jos Buttler’s innings ended with a score of 30.

David Willey, Moeen Ali, and Brydon Carse all struck 21s, 15s, and 14s, respectively, to bring England’s total to 110.

In 7.2 overs, Bumrah returned career-best figures of 6/19 to lead India’s bowling attack.

Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Shami both collected three wickets apiece.

India cruised to victory after Rohit Sharma smashed 76 off just 58 balls.

India took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series after completing the task in just 18.2 overs.
