Royal Challengers Bangalore
On Saturday, the Gujarat Titans trounced the Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise in the 2022 Indian Premier League season opener.

It has been a fantastic start for Gujarat Titans in their maiden season in the Indian Premier League, winning eight of their first nine games.

In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season, the Gujarat Titans resumed their dominance with a six-wicket victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Brabourne Stadium. The team currently has a total of 16 points from nine matches in the Indian Premier League after this victory. The team now needs one more victory to clinch a postseason berth.

Thanks to a magical start, the Gujarat Titans have racked up an incredible IPL record.

Since the IPL began in 2008, no other squad has started the season better than Hardik Pandya’s team.

There has never been a team in the history of the Indian Premier League that has a record of 8 victories out of 9. Gujarat has five of its eight victories this season coming when chasing a target.

Previous teams with seven games to play, the Rajasthan Royals (2008) and Gujarat Lions (2016), also had six-game winning streaks.

Every time Gujarat Titans have chased down a target, they’ve managed to do so in their 20th over.

Only Chennai Super Kings (2018) and Rajasthan Royals (2019) have won five matches in the 20th over of the innings in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

It was Rahul Tewatia and David Miller who helped Gujarat Titans attain their target of 171 against RCB with three balls to spare in the game.

Tewatia and Miller both hit unbeaten 43s to guide Gujarat to a six-wicket victory.

Virat Kohli’s first fifty of the season earlier helped RCB score 170/6 on the board.

Immediately following the game, Gujarat captain Hardik Pandya had this to say: “As a member of this team, it’s becoming a regular occurrence for newcomers to step up and shine in critical situations. The odds are stacked against them, but they’ve proven time and time again that they can do it.”
