Irfan Pathan, a former all-rounder for India, said that he would prefer to see Bhuvneshwar bowl his overs with the new ball after the T20 World Cup roster was announced.

Indian cricketers Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel, who were injured and missed the Asia Cup, were among the much-anticipated group that will go to Australia for the forthcoming T20 World Cup. Along with them, Mohammed Shami, Deepak Chahar, Ravi Bishnoi, and Shreyas Iyer have been added to the squad as backup players, along with Arshdeep Singh and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Bhuvneshwar, who recently won the Asia Cup, was heavily criticized for leaking runs in the last overs. Irfan Pathan, a former all-rounder for India, said that he would prefer to see Bhuvneshwar bowl his overs with the new ball after the T20 World Cup roster was announced.

It is quite understandable that once you return from an injury, you take some time, but you will get the game time as you are playing against Australia and South Africa before the World Cup, Irfan said in a video posted on Star Sports Twitter. “Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, and Harshal Patel, these three will solve your problem of bowling 5 overs at the death.

You can bowl Chahal for one over at the death, and you can use Bhuvneshwar Kumar as well, but I would like him to bowl more with the new ball, he said. “You will have that quality time, India’s problem of bowling at the death has been largely remedied with the arrival of these three,” he said.

Bhuvneshwar let up 40 runs in his four-over spell during the Asia Cup Super 4 match against Pakistan, 19 of which came from the 19th over. 30 runs were then scored against Sri Lanka, with 14 of those runs coming in the 19th over.

Bhuvneshwar finished the Asia Cup with 11 wickets, including a five-wicket performance against Afghanistan. His performance in the Super 4 stage matches against Pakistan and Sri Lanka, however, was much less than stellar when he conceded runs in both of these games’ 19th overs.

The following players will represent India in the ICC T20 World Cup: Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Hooda, Rishabh Pant, Yuzvendra Chahal, Axar Patel, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel, and Arshdeep Singh.

Players on standby – Mohd. Deepak Chahar, Shami, Shreyas Iyer, and Ravi Bishnoi.
