After CSK's IPL match against Rajasthan Royals last week, Sam Curran complained of back pain.

West Indian all-rounder Dominic Drakes, an uncapped rookie, has been named to the Chennai Super Kings squad to replace injured England all-rounder Sam Curran.

After Sam Curran injured his back in the first game of the IPL, the Chennai Super Kings called up West Indian all-rounder Dominic Drakes to replace him for the rest of the tournament. Former First-Class and List A left-hander Drakes has also played in 19 T20s. Curran missed the remainder of the IPL and the ICC T20 World Cup because of a lower back injury he sustained during an IPL game.

On Thursday, Chennai Super Kings will play their final league game at Dubai International Stadium against Punjab Kings.
