India won the U-19 World Cup final against England in Antigua.

An award for players and support staff was also revealed after India overcame England in Saturday’s U-19 World Cup final, according to the BCCI.

Upon arrival in India, the victorious India U-19 cricket team will be greeted by the BCCI. There were financial awards of Rs 40 lakh per player and Rs 25 lakh per support personnel on Sunday, as revealed by the BCCI. The Indian delegation visited the Indian High Commissioner in Guyana after their historic victory over England on Saturday. The team will fly home from the Caribbean on Sunday evening, with only a short time to celebrate their victory, through connecting flights from Amsterdam and Bangalore, before arriving in Ahmedabad the following morning.

At the moment, the senior Indian squad is also taking on the West Indies in three one-day internationals (ODIs) in Ahmedabad. As the squad is now in a bubble, it is unclear whether or not the U-19 players would have the opportunity to engage with their senior counterparts.

“There has been little time for rest for the boys due to their rigorous schedules. After they get in India, they’ll be able to rest for a while “A BCCI official stated.

The lads flew from Antigua to Guyana, where they were greeted by the Indian High Commissioner, K J Srinivasa, an avid cricket fan, after their victory in the final.

Even though the players were exhausted, they took advantage of the opportunity to take selfies with West Indies legend Sir Curtly Ambrose, who was in attendance at the event. Capturing the Indian team in the Caribbean was Delhi-based Yash Dhull and support staff leader, a man known as Hrishikesh Kanitkar.

It was VVS Laxman, head of the National Cricket Academy in the Caribbean, who was instrumental in the squad’s recovery following the outbreak of a COVID-19 virus that claimed the lives of five members of the team, including Dhull.

It was India’s fifth triumph overall, extending their winning streak to four.
