Outside India, Bumrah has amassed 97 wickets


In 195 Test wickets, Mohammed Shami is the leading wicket-taker.

Dec. 26 is the date for the first Test match to begin.


They will return to the Indian team in South Africa, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami, who was rested in New Zealand. The duo will lead the Indian pace battery in the series against the Proteas and will also be aiming to accomplish their own objectives.

To begin the three-match series, the first Test is scheduled to take place in Centurion on Sunday. To prepare for the much-anticipated series, the Indian team has already arrived in South Africa. They will return to the Indian team in South Africa, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami, who was rested in New Zealand. The duo will spearhead the Indian pace batteries in the series against the Proteas, and they will also be aiming to accomplish their own objectives.

Bumrah has taken 101 wickets in 24 Test matches since his debut in 2018. Only two of the sprinter’s 24 matches have taken place at home. Both of those games were played against England earlier this year.

Bumrah has appeared in 22 Test matches and taken 97 wickets outside of India. He has just three wickets to go before he reaches the landmark of 100 wickets in Test cricket away from India. Bumrah had made his Test debut in South Africa during India’s most recent visit in 2018.

Aside from Bumrah and Mohammed Shami, only four Indian pace bowlers have ever taken 200 wickets in Test cricket: Kapil Dev, Zaheer Khan, and Ishant Sharma. Shami is just five wickets away.

As a member of the Indian team, Shami has taken 195 wickets in 54 Test matches.

Only three games have been won by India in South Africa, and they have yet to win a series there.

Tests in Johannesburg and Cape Town are scheduled after the Centurion Test, which will take place on January 3 and 4. (from January 11).
