For their match against KKR, the Mumbai Indians (MI) will field a team in women's team uniforms.

After starting the IPL 2023 season with two losses, MI won their first game on Tuesday, beating DC.

Champions five times over IPL On Sunday, April 16, players for the Mumbai Indians (MI) will wear the uniforms of their Women’s squad in their match against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The event is a part of Education and Sports for All (ESA) Day, a project spearheaded by the Mumbai franchise. Last month, under the direction of India captain Harmanpeet Kaur, MI’s women’s side defeated Delhi Capitals in the final to claim the inaugural WPL championship. The special jerseys will be worn by MI players during their match versus KKR at the Wankhede Stadium to encourage young women in India to consider a career in sports.

Ishan Kishan can be seen in an Instagram video posted by MI unwrapping his new jersey for the next match on Sunday, following which he expresses his enthusiasm for taking part in the effort.

On Sunday, MI will host around 19,000 young women from various non-governmental organizations at the stadium as part of the project.

Several members of the women’s squad will also be in attendance at the stadium for the KKR match.

Against DC, Rohit Sharma scored the winning run with a score of 65.

Unfortunately for MI, star bowler Jofra Archer is doubtful to play after suffering new elbow pain following his debut in the opening game. The quick bowling duties fall on Jason Behrendorff and Riley Meredith, while Piyush Chawla is counted on to continue his strong play from the last game, in which he took 3/22.
