Former Australia spinner Ian Chappell believes that R Ashwin is a better bowler than Nathan Lyon.

Batsmen generally have an advantage on the leg side off Lyon, so his prediction should be viewed skeptically.

Ashwin has, in Test cricket, 407 wickets to his credit.

Ian Chappell, the former Australian captain, believes that Ashwin is a better spinner than Lyon.

While Nathan Lyon may be the better leg-spinner, Ravichandran Ashwin is a better spinner overall. Lyon also highlighted how Lyon has an advantage over Ashwin, as Lyon is less easily scored off to the right-handers while bowling to them. Ashwin has begun taking 409 wickets in 78 test results at an estimate of 24.69, such as 30 5 hauls and seven ten-wicket means of transport. In addition, he is India’s fourth-highest wicket-taker in one-day internationals, as well.

“Ashwin is my pick to win the bowling crown this year. Nathan Lyon has a strike rate of 70%. This year is very early in the year. I believe that in my opinion, Nathan Lyon is responsible for every run conceded when he is bowling to right-handed batsmen, which shouldn’t occur. I believe Ashwin is a better bowler, however, he is a decent bowler “on ESPNcricinfo’s program ‘Run Order’, Chappell remarked

Manjrekar does not like when people use the term “all-time great” to describe Ashwin, as he does not have enough international five-wicket hauls.

“Ashwin’s main flaw is that when we look at places where Indians find themselves in an unfamiliar situation, it’s remarkable to see that he has never taken five wickets in a single inning. None of these countries has ever witnessed even one five-wicket haul “Manjrekar was also on the show with Manjrekar.

“Also, you say he prefers to bowl on pitches that allow him to show off his uncommon bowling aesthetic. Ravindra Jadeja has had the wicket-taking ability all series long in his rivalry with Stuart Broad. To put it another way, Ashwin doesn’t soar above the competition. What is curious about this is that in the previous series against England, Axar Patel had more wickets than Ashwin on pitches that were similar. I simply can’t accept Ashwin as a top-shelf pitcher, “in other words, he added.

Ashwin made a comparison to the former West Indies great Joel Garner and stated that he doesn’t bowl enough five-wicket hauls because the Indian attack is strong.

“My second statement is into account Joel Garner, how often five-wicket hauls does he have? I’m amazed he only received a few votes. The guy was brilliant, and his record suggests it. For that reason, and because he was working with three other excellent musicians, the audience was fully enjoying the concert. Additionally, my opinion is that Indian cricket attacks have intensified to the point where the wickets are shared more often “Chappell stated”

Lastly, I will point out that because of Ashwin’s excellent reputation, the England players probably concentrated more on preventing Ashwin from scoring than helping Axar Patel.
