When former teammate Yuvraj Singh voiced his concerns over the future of one-day international cricket, former all-rounder Irfan Pathan had the right response. Yuvraj was dismayed by the sparse crowds during Sunday’s third one-day international (ODI) between India and Sri Lanka in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala’s Greenfield International Stadium. He used Twitter to voice his opinion and poll his followers on whether they agree that ODI cricket is on its last legs due to dwindling attendance.

“But why should a half-empty stadium worry me? Is cricket doomed for extinction?” Tweeted Yuvraj.

Pathan was quick to respond, saying that fans need just wait for Yuvraj’s return to the pitch.

“Let’s have some bhai pads, please. Bro put on the pads and get back in the game; the fans will support you “… he made the following statement.
