T20 World Cup: Mushfiqur Rahim was brilliantly caught in the slips by South Africa’s Reeza Hendricks off Kagiso Rabada’s bowling.

South Africa’s T20 World Cup bowlers dominated as they dismissed Bangladesh for just 84 runs on Sunday. Fast bowler Kagiso Rabada returned with impressive figures of 3/20 against the Mahmudullah-led side. Bangladesh’s batting collapse was brought to an end by the dismissals of Mohammad Naim, Soumya Sarkar, and Mushfiqur Rahim by Kagiso Rabada. Reeza Hendricks of South Africa, meanwhile, made a spectacular diving catch in the slips off a Rabada delivery to catch Mushfiqur Rahim. Rahim was caught off guard by a back-of-length delivery from the South African pacer, and he poked at it with his bat face open. His throw to second slip was wide and he made an error. The ball flew off his bat and into the wide second slip area where Hendricks was positioned. In an instant of reflex, Hendricks put his hands up, and the ball appeared to be stuck in his palms. It was later revealed that Hendricks actually caught the ball as he was landing on the ground, as evidenced by videotape.

Quinton de Kock was unable to represent South Africa against the West Indies, so Reeza Hendricks stepped in. As an opener, Hendricks had a gritty 39-run knock against the Caribbean side, and he also played for the team against Sri Lanka.

Two of their three games have ended in victories for South Africa in the tournament, and they are currently second in Group 1. They have a better chance of making the semifinals if they beat Bangladesh.
