Rohit Sharma’s IPL 2022 average is barely 18.17, compared to Virat Kohli’s 19.67 for Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The Indian cricket squad is led by Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Even in one-day cricket, established batsmen are usually guaranteed a berth in the Indian team. However, the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 has been less than ideal for them. It is a stark contrast between Kohli’s 236 runs in 13 matches for Royal Challengers Bangalore at an average of 19.67 and a slugging percentage of 113.46 and Sharma’s 218 runs in 12 matches for Mumbai Indians at an average of 18.17.

Their IPL schedules have been slim this year. While former India captain Kohli only managed one half-century, current captain Sharma has failed to record a fifty-plus run this season. Six months from now, the T20 World Cup in Australia will be taking place, and their poor T20 form isn’t a positive sign. Indian cricket legend and BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has now spoken out over the paucity of runs for the two senior players in the IPL 2022.

“Rohit and Virat’s form doesn’t bother me at all. They’re just too good for their own good; they’re among the best in the business. There is a long way to go before the World Cup, but I am convinced that they will be in peak physical condition “In an interview with Mid-day, Ganguly explained this.

All eyes were on Virat Kohli in RCB’s previous match when Punjab Kings set a massive goal of 210 and the batsman was removed after scoring 20, and the team fell to a 54-run loss. When Virat Kohli hit a typical cover drive off Arshdeep Singh’s bowling in the second over of the chase, it appeared like the hitter had found his stride. He was bowled by Kagiso Rabada for a duck in the fourth over. Kohli was observed looking up at the sky after he was fired and mumbling something.

Hesson claimed that Kohli is working hard in the nets despite his frustration and that RCB’s Director of Cricket was right.

“There is never a time when we are not in constant communication with all of our players. It appeared to me that Virat was in fantastic shape today, and he was aggressive and well-prepared. I had high hopes for him today, but it grazed the other side of his thigh pad once more. Not having good luck lately, especially after making a plan and sticking to it, he is just as irritated with himself and everyone else since he believed today was going to be his day “said at a virtual press conference with Hesson.
