Jamshedpur vs NorthEast United FC Dream11 Preview

Sunday’s Indian Super League (ISL) 2020-21 double-header kicks off with a clash between two struggling sides, Jamshedpur FC and NorthEast United FC. The match will be held at the Tilak Maidan in Vasco Da Gama.

Jamshedpur FC come into this encounter on the back of two crushing losses against Kerala Blasters FC and FC Goa. They are placed in the seventh position whereas NorthEast United FC are one spot below on the overall ISL standings.

Jamshedpur FC have the slight edge going into this ISL clash with better defensive and attacking firepower in their squad. However, a new managerial change could be the boost that the Highlanders need to get back on track.

Coming off back-to-back defeats, Jamshedpur FC will look to get back to winning ways and revive their playoff hopes when they take on struggling NorthEast United FC in their Indian Super League match here on Sunday.

Jamsehdpur FC coach Owen Coyle doesn’t feel his side’s recent slump is down to inconsistency and believes they have the character to bounce back at the Tilak Maidan Stadium.

There’s not much separating the two sides at the moment with seventh-placed Jamshedpur being a point above NEUFC with 13 points from 11 games. But Jamshedpur will certainly fancy their chances against their opponents who are struggling for consistency.

The Highlanders are winless in their last seven games. To make matters worse, they parted ways with coach Gerard Nus who was replaced by Khalid Jamil on an interim basis.

Jamshedpur also boast of a unique record against their opponents, going unbeaten in seven games while winning twice. But that is no reason for Coyle to take his opponents lightly.

“Well, I don’t know if they are in good form or not. I think they played very well in the last game,” Coyle said.

“NorthEast are dangerous opponents and every opponent you face possesses different challenges. They might not be fluent in passing the ball but they have so many other qualities and that’s what we need to identify.

“We have to be respectful but also look to play our game and impose ourselves and get our good players on the ball.”

  • Amarjit Singh Kiyam, who is a midfielder, delivered some truly eye-catching performances for JFC last season. His ability to win the ball back and recycle possession.

ISL – Jamshedpur Vs NorthEast United (JFC Vs NEUFC): Dream11 Picks

Despite his defence losing its way, TP Rehenesh has continued to be the saviour of his side’s backline with him dispelling everything sent down his way.

For Jamshedpur, today’s match is just the fixture to regain their defensive touch. The club is up against a side which has scored just once in its last three encounters, a side Jamshedpur can easily spurn.

It sees us opt for Peter Hartley, Stephen Eze and Ricky from the side. Benjamin Lambot’s ability to keep attacking plays at bay sees him become the first pick from the opposition.

Although they have struggled for goals, the club can easily end up fulfilling insatiable appetite come today. With Jamshedpur’s house crumbling, Frederico Gallego who registered an assist the last time around will be quietly confident of adding to his numbers today.

Khassa Camara will be his partner for the day’s matchup owing to his ability to win challenges while Lalengmawia is his partner.

Aitor Monroy’s succulent showing the last time around makes him our pick from Jamshedpur.

Jamshedpur’s top scorer, striker Nerijus Valskis netted twice for the club the last time around. Luis Machado lines up for us from the other side after his strike for the club in their foregone showdown.

ISL – Jamshedpur Vs NorthEast United (JFC Vs NEUFC): Captain And Vice-Captain

Eight goal striker Valskis was an instant pick as our captain while Aitor is the vice-captain.
