In the history of SRH, David Warner is the franchise’s all-time leading run-scorer. At an average of nearly 50, he racked up 4014 runs in 95 innings. Two centuries and forty fifties were among the many runs he made at a strike rate of 140 or more.
The Indian Premier League is now home to Australian opening batter David Warner. The Delhi Capitals purchased the former Sunrisers Hyderabad captain in the IPL mega auction for Rs 6.25 crore, bringing an end to his long tenure with SRH. Having led the club to the IPL championship, Warner had his captaincy removed last season after a falling out with the team’s administration. Kane Williamson was promoted to a captaincy in the middle of the season. When Warner was suspended for his role in the ‘Sandpapergate’ scandal, the Kiwi batter took the reins and led the team to the final in 2018.
Throughout the week, Warner has used his social media platforms to convey his admiration for the franchise. On Wednesday, he shared photographs of himself and Kane Williamson as well as a heartfelt essay. Also, one of the images showed Warner posing with Williamson’s infant daughter.
