It didn’t take long for Nottinghamshire fast bowler Yuzvendra Chahal to have a unique video of his workout posted on his Instagram account. Shortly after, former England cricketer Liam Plunkett commented on it

In anticipation of the Sri Lanka tour, Yuzvendra Chahal, who is staying in Mumbai, has posted a video on Instagram where the leg-spinner can be seen in a gym. Chahal captioned the video, “It’s all about strength…physically as well as mentally.” The leg-spinner is shown in the video using dumbbells and a stretch band while working out. In a couple of days, Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s physique will look like Chahal’s if he keeps working out like that in the gym.

When they hadn’t called Chahal up to the national team yet, he was included in the 20-man squad for the upcoming ODI and T20I tours of Sri Lanka, which was announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India earlier this month (BCCI).

Due to his in-and-out performances in the recent past, Chahal has found himself in and out of the Indian side. A leg-spinner last appeared in the 14th IPL edition (IPL).

Before the T20 tournament was called off because of the surge in the number of HIV cases in the country and within the IPL’s bio-secure bubble, Chahal played all seven games for RCB.

In the seven IPL games, the 30-year-old spinner was able to collect only four wickets.

To earn a place in the upcoming T20 World Cup, scheduled to be held later this year, Chahal is expected to do well in the upcoming Sri Lankan white-ball series.
