MSK Prasad, too, believes that the team’s batting order needs to be figured out before the World Cup.

He returns to the Indian team after an extended hiatus, and the emphasis is on him ahead of the India-South Africa T20I series. At the age of 37, few people anticipated him to return to the national squad for the third time. Because of his success in IPL 2022, the selection committee and the team management had no choice but to invite Karthik back.

IPL match-winning performances for RCB have gone a long way toward earning Karthik an India call-up for the ICC T20 World Cup later this year, as has Karthik’s stated desire to assist the national team wins the tournament in February.

Also, as a backup option for MS Dhoni, Karthik was named to India’s side for the 2019 ICC World Cup. Former chairman of selectors MSK Prasad hand-picked him for inclusion in the roster. For more than a decade of Karthik’s career in international cricket, the former India cricketer told NDTV he had never seen him so focused.

“It’s amazing how well he handled himself in certain situations. The previous half-decade or so has been the first time I’ve seen Dinesh Karthik in this state of mind. Because he’s in a good mood, of course “Prasad made the following statement.

“He’d set the stage for a foregone conclusion. Now that he’s back, he’ll have more opportunities to contribute and make a difference. There aren’t many players in that position (finishers). It’s possible that the selectors decided to give him a final chance because of his impressive IPL performances “he went on to say.

MSK Prasad, too, believes that the team’s batting order needs to be figured out before the World Cup.

“It’s time to decide on our starting lineup. When it came to that, we were a touch short even at the T20 World Cup in 2013 “Prasad made the comment.

India’s group includes South Africa, Pakistan, and Bangladesh in the Super 12 stage.
