Sachin Tendulkar’s fame extends far beyond the sport of cricket. As a result of his efforts on the pitch, he is now considered one of cricket’s all-time greats. His records for most runs in One-Day Internationals (18426) and Tests (15921) have not been broken since he retired 10 years ago, in 2013. He has scored the most centuries in international cricket history. He is also well-known all across the globe. Although few people know it, Tendulkar also holds the rank of honorary group captain in the Indian Air Force.

Recently, he paid a visit to New Delhi to meet with Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari. Images of Tendulkar dressed as an Indian Air Force pilot have gone viral.

There is little debate that Sachin Tendulkar is one of the best batters in cricket history. The former India hitter made his debut in 1989 and promptly went on to rewrite cricket history, shattering multiple records along the way. Sachin, who played for India for 24 years, holds the record for most runs scored in both one-day internationals and tests. Former Pakistani pacer Shoaib Akhtar recently gushed over Sachin, calling the famous batter’s “extraordinary” talent. Akhtar said that Sachin was able to dominate against bowlers from all over the world.

Over the course of his extensive cricketing career, the ‘Master Blaster’ faced up against several top-tier bowlers. Even so, the India veteran continued to rack up impressive knocks.

That Sachin overcame Warne, McGrath, Wasim Akram, and the pace batteries of the West Indies and South Africa is why I consider him the best cricketer of all time. When he finally faced fast bowlers like Brett Lee, myself, Dale Steyn, and the rest of us, it was after a 10-year wait. According to what Akhtar told RevSportz, “I just thought this guy is crazy, this is not normal, nothing less than extraordinary.”
