In playing XI for India's Asia Cup Super 4 match against Sri Lanka, Ashwin took Bishnoi's place.

In the match between India and Sri Lanka, Ashwin will likely start because of his outstanding record against left-handers and the fact that the Sri Lankans have a sizable number of southpaws on their roster.

On Tuesday, India will face Sri Lanka in a key Asia Cup Super 4 match in Dubai. Rohit Sharma has made one significant change to the starting lineup, replacing rookie leg spinner Ravi Bishnoi with the more experienced Ravichandran Ashwin. The Sri Lankans have a big number of southpaw players on their roster, and Ashwin has a stellar record against left-handers.

After losing their match against Pakistan on Sunday, India must win this match. When it came to the choice to select Ashwin for the playing XI, captain Rohit Sharma said the following.

“With the dew, we must thoroughly understand the borders, lengths, and lines. Tonight, there is less grass. The weather appears to be dryer, and we have made one adjustment based on the Sri Lankan team: Ashwin replaces Bishnoi.

In addition to stating that the Asia Cup’s format is assisting the team in preparing for the T20 World Cup, Rohit stated that he would have also preferred to bat first.

“We also would have started bowling first. The pitch doesn’t really alter much; it just gets better as the game goes on. In the previous game, we batted fairly effectively but came up just short. It presents us with a chance to perform well.

“This is how the World Cup will be played, therefore we need to adopt a pressure-coping attitude. To afford many games, you can’t afford to lose, the Indian skipper observed.

Rohit added that close games like these help the team learn a lot in regard to the defeat to Pakistan.

“It was a close game; contests like this will teach us a lot more. When you are defending a score like that, you get to learn a lot more. Another chance to do that and do it correctly. exact pitch The grass appears a little less sparse and drier, Rohit Sharma noted.
