Arjun Tendulkar, Vidwath Kaverappa, Vyshak Vijaykumar, and V Koushik make up the speed assault for the South Zone.
The South Zone squad, captained by Mayank Agarwal, will compete in the Deodhar Trophy inter-zonal 50-over competition beginning on July 24 in Puducherry. The roster includes Sachin Tendulkar’s son, Arjun. The Emerging Asia Cup will be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka, from July 13-23, and the best players from each south zone state have been invited to participate. Some, like B Sai Sudharsan, have been put on standby. The BCCI has invited Tendulkar junior, a left-arm fast-medium bowler and a hard-hitting lower-order hitter, to an Emerging all-rounders’ camp in August. Tendulkar junior made his Indian Premier League debut with Mumbai Indians in the previous season.
He is a member of the pace attack for the South Zone, alongside V Koushik and the Karnataka new ball combo of Vidwath Kaverappa and Vyshak Vijaykumar.
With eight wickets in seven games, Arjun was tied for the most by the Goa squad.
Arjun, a left-arm seamer, provides a welcome variation to the assault and is often given a shot in the Deodhar Trophy because he is the best player in his state.
