Injuries to his head, back, and feet have not threatened Rishabh Pant’s life as he made his way to Roorkee to surprise his mother.

The cricket community has been shocked by Rishabh Pant’s tragic vehicle accident. When Pant nodded off behind the wheel on the Delhi-Dehradun highway early on a Friday morning, his luxury car crashed into a road divider and caught fire. Thankfully, he was able to escape unharmed. The 25-year-old man was on his way to Roorkee to surprise his mother when he was involved in an accident in Manglaur in Uttarakhand’s Haridwar district around 5:30 a.m., police said. He suffered injuries to his head, back, and feet but is in stable condition.

The BCCI of India has released a statement confirming that Pant has two incisions on his forehead and a torn ligament in his right knee. In addition to the abrasions on his back, he has injuries to his right wrist, ankle, and toe.

A video from a while back in which Dhawan cautions Rishabh Pant to be careful behind the wheel has recently gone viral online. Both Pant and Dhawan, who play for the Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL), can be seen in the video sporting the team’s uniform. Pant seeks counsel from Dhawan. As a follow-up, the seasoned opener advises the promising wicketkeeper-batsman to drive cautiously.

Pant was injured in a car accident early on Friday morning near Roorkee, Uttarakhand, according to a statement released by the BCCI. After suffering an accident, he went to the trauma unit at Saksham Hospital. Rishabh’s injuries include two cuts on his forehead, a torn ligament in his right knee, and wounds to his right wrist, ankle, and toe, as well as abrasions to his back.

Rishabh is stable and has been transferred to Max Hospital in Dehradun so that doctors there can perform MRIs to determine the full extent of his injuries and decide on a treatment plan.

Rishabh’s family and the medical staff treating him are in frequent contact with the BCCI, and the medical team is in close contact with those staff members. In addition, “the Board will ensure that Rishabh receives the highest quality medical treatment and all the assistance he requires to overcome this difficult period,” the statement said.
