In a nail-biting encounter on Sunday, RCSK came out on top by two wickets over KKR.

During his team’s match against Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday, MS Dhoni took two catches behind the stumps, marking a significant milestone for him.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni made history on Sunday when he caught two balls behind the stumps for his team against the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League. When Dhoni caught KKR opener Venkatesh Iyer and Dinesh Karthik, he became the Indian Premier League’s leading wicketkeeper by a wide margin. Dhoni’s dismissal of former KKR captain Karthik coincided with him surpassing Karthik’s IPL record for most catches by a wicketkeeper. In the IPL, Dhoni now has 116 catches to Karthik’s 115.

During CSK’s inning, Karthik had a chance to either equal or break Dhoni’s record, but he was unable to do so due to dropped catches. CSK defeated KKR thanks to a late flourish from the willow of Ravindra Jadeja. KKR had looked on course to win the match. In the 19th over, Jadeja hit two huge sixes and two boundaries off Prasidh Krishna to get his team back in the game.

When it came down to the wire, Sunil Narine bowled an outstanding final over to keep it close, but Deepak Chahar hit the game-winning run to help CSK pull away for a two-wicket victory in yet another exciting IPL match.

IPL wicketkeeper record-holder MS Dhoni has also racked up 39 stumpings and 155.5 dismissals, both as a keeper. In terms of total dismissals, Karthik comes in second with 146.

Only Robin Uthappa, with 90 wickets kept in the IPL, has more dismissals than the other top wicketkeepers.
