Mohammed Shami picked up two wickets in the first session on Day 5 of the World Trade Center final.

Mohammed Shami was spotted wearing a towel during the first session on Day 5 of the World Test Championship final, and fans responded with some amusing observations.

In the final minutes of the first session of Day 5 of the World Test Championship final, Mohammed Shami had wrapped a towel around his lower body. While walking back to the dressing room from lunch, Shami was seen draped in a towel, and fans gave creative reactions to his towel-clad state. One user noted that Shami’s unusual getup bore similarities to that of Indian actor Ranveer Singh, who is renowned for his equally unusual style.

Other users used Southampton’s cold weather to imply that Shami’s “new cricket outfit” was an appropriate choice.

Shami impressed in the morning session on Day 5, picking up two important wickets for New Zealand in their first innings; these wickets helped his team win the match.

BJ Watling was bowled through the gate, while Taylor was picked up brilliantly at mid-off by Shubman Gill for 11.

For the first time all four days of the Test so far, rain spoiled the contest, delaying the start of Day 5 by an hour, and New Zealand scored a 101 for 2 in reply for India’s 217 in the first innings.

After India’s dismissal of Taylor, Henry Nicholls, and Watling, New Zealand was held to only two runs in the session by the Indians’ frontline bowlers consisting of Shami, Ishant Sharma, and Bumrah.

The ICC has scheduled a reserve day for this Test, meaning that it’s likely to go beyond the sixth day.
